Conversion layers

Conversion coatings are obtained through a chemical reaction with the metal. The thin film forms over the entire product.

The characteristics of the resulting surface provide the following advantages:

• Corrosion resistance
• Promotion of good initial adhesion, for wet painting for example.
• Low electrical resistance
• Minimal build-up

Surface Treatment performs the following conversion layer processes in-house:

• Chromating (alodine 600, 1200, 1500)
• RoHS-compliant chromating
